The Davy Defensive Equity Income Fund invests in 50 – 70 Quality global equities which are expected to provide a higher than average dividend yield coupled with an ability to grow these dividends. The Fund Manager seeks to reduce risk by investing across a broad range of sectors and geographies. Additionally the Fund reduces risk by purchasing insurance to provide downside protection against significant market falls.
The lead Fund Manager Mark Seavers (also Chief Investment Officer of Davy Asset Management) has over 20 years’ experience managing global equity funds. He is supported by an eight-strong Global Equity team which has over 120 years of combined investment experience.
The investment team utilises a robust investment process which blends a proprietary and structured quantitative model with bottom-up fundamental stock analysis. The Fund invests in Quality companies that pay dividends and seek to grow those dividends over time. One of the key features of the Fund is the use of call option premiums to purchase some “insurance” against significant market falls.
